Technical Lead, Firmware & Embedded Systems
Shape the firmware that powers autonomous ground vehicles trusted in defence and industrial missions worldwide.
At Milrem Robotics, we’re fusing embedded systems, sensor integration, and high-performance computing to push the boundaries of autonomy. We’re consolidating all sensor-related development—firmware, drivers, ROS integration—into one focused team, and we’re looking for a Technical Lead to help drive this vision forward.
This is your chance to step into a role where:
✅ You’ll bring new machines to life. Your team will be the first to power up new hardware, integrating sensors, computers, and systems, and proving their capabilities in real-world field tests.
✅ You’ll architect the software that makes the impossible possible. From writing drivers for lidars, radars, and cameras, to building embedded software that controls cooling loops, power management, and cleaning systems, you’ll be at the core of innovation.
✅ You’ll shape how we build. As our Technical Lead, you’ll set the technical direction, propose solutions to complex challenges, and define how our growing firmware team works together.
✅ You’ll operate at the cutting edge. NVIDIA Jetson platforms. ROS integrations. Complex sensor stacks. Large-scale robotics platforms. You’ll get to push the limits of technology—and your own skills.
✅ You’ll influence real-world missions. The systems you help build aren’t prototypes for show—they’re used in defence, industrial, and critical missions where reliability matters.
What makes you the right fit?
- You’re fluent in C++ and comfortable diving into embedded systems.
- You’ve worked with platforms like Jetson, GStreamer, Docker, Linux kernel, Debian, and perhaps even C or CUDA.
- You’re skilled at integrating hardware and software, and thrive on figuring out how sensors and systems talk to each other.
- You’ve worked on large, complex engineering projects, and enjoy thinking both architecturally and hands-on.
- You’re proactive, curious, and not afraid to ask the right questions.
- You’re eager to lead technically, even if you won’t directly manage people (people management is handled by engineering managers).
- You communicate confidently in English.
Why Milrem?
Because here, your work matters.
- You’ll help build technology used in critical real-world applications.
- You’ll join a fast-growing European tech company with a mission and a voice in the future of robotics.
- You’ll find a collaborative, diverse team ready to support your ideas.
- And of course, you’ll enjoy career development, health insurance, extra vacation days, flexible work options, and wellness initiatives.
