System Safety Engineer
Do you want to work on advanced robots that help make missions safer? Milrem Robotics, the leading developer of robotic and autonomous systems in Europe, is looking for a System Safety Engineer to join our team.
In this role, you will help make sure our Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) are safe and meet international safety standards like MIL-STD-882E (for military systems) and ISO 26262 (for car-like systems). You will be part of a team that builds high-tech robots used in important and challenging missions around the world.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead safety engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle of UGV systems.
- Perform hazard analyses, risk assessments, and safety case development.
- Ensure compliance with MIL-STD-882E and ISO 26262 requirements.
- Conduct safety analyses including FMEA, FTA, STPA, and others.
- Collaborate closely with systems, software, hardware, and test engineering teams.
- Prepare safety documentation and support certification with internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in design reviews, audits, and safety validation processes.
You’re a great fit if you have:
- 5+ years of experience in system safety engineering for complex, safety-critical systems.
- Proven knowledge of ISO 26262 (especially Parts 3–6); MIL-STD-882E experience is a strong plus.
- Experience with safety analysis methodologies (FMEA, FTA, STPA).
- Understanding system development processes V-model, MBSE and agile-safe integration where applicable.
- Strong ownership and leadership skills to take initiative and lead the field within the company.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
- Strong written and spoken English skills.
