Meet the Milremee - Our Very Own "Stig," Martin Rump!
At just 14 years old, Martin won a World Cup title, which launched his international racing career. From single-seaters to GT racing, Martin has raced for top teams like Audi and Porsche across Europe and Asia. He is the only Estonian to have competed in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Martin now works full-time at Milrem Robotics in Estonia, where he is involved in developing platform powertrain systems. His role allows him to apply his racing insights to engineering challenges. "I have always been interested in understanding the technology behind the machines I race, so at some point in my life, I studied mechanical engineering at the University of Manchester in England," he shares. "While racing, my studies helped me better communicate with engineers, bridging the gap between driver and technical team," he adds.
Motorsport runs deep in Martin's family. His father, a former motorcycle enthusiast and his biggest fan, has been a constant source of advice and support. Transitioning from two wheels to four, Martin often discusses strategies and technical details with him.
Having lived in numerous places due to his racing career, Martin now sees his future in Estonia. In addition to racing and his engineering job at Milrem, he is committed to developing the next generation of drivers through training and mentoring. This is how cool the people at Milrem are and Martin is just one example :)
